Tulip Leo van Meijel

Elegant performance in your garden

The 'Leo van Maeiel' tulip is a choice for professionals who value reliable results. As a member of the Lily-flowered class, this cultivar requires a specific approach to landscape planning: its elegant, elongated form with pointed, slightly reflexed creamy petals stands out significantly against standard tulip varieties. In operation, this hybrid demonstrates commendable vigor, which is critical for minimizing losses of planting stock.

Agrotechnics and Disease Management

The main challenge in tulip cultivation is fungal infection. 'Leo van Maeiel' excels with its inherent resistance to Fusarium and Verticillium wilt. For the operator, this means reduced expenditure on fungicides and pre-planting bulb treatments. The medium-height stem allows for versatile use, from forcing to garden border displays, where stem strength and resistance to lodging are paramount.

• Blooming period: Mid-season, facilitating effective bloom-time scheduling.
• Maintenance: Standard for Lily-flowered types—well-drained soil is essential to prevent moisture stagnation during the dormant phase.
• Efficiency: High bulb durability during storage, making this cultivar an economically viable asset for commercial scale.

If you are looking for a variety that combines a refined aesthetic with strong natural immunity to common bulb diseases, this cultivar is a reliable asset for your professional collection.
