Tulip Leo Visser

Stability for the Commercial Forcing Cycle

The 'Leo Visser' tulip belongs to the classic 'Triumph' category, which remains the gold standard for professional bulb forcing operations. Growers select this variety when consistency and predictable timing are critical to meeting market demand during the peak spring season. Its mid-season flowering cycle allows for seamless integration into conveyor production systems.

Agronomic Resilience and Disease Management

The practical appeal of 'Leo Visser' lies in its robust field resistance. In greenhouse conditions, where high planting density and humidity are constants, this variety stands out due to its ability to withstand common threats:

• Anthracnose and Peronospora: effectively resists the most aggressive greenhouse fungi.
• Root rot: minimizes losses in the substrate, simplifying water and nutrient management.
• Powdery mildew: reduces the need for heavy fungicide applications, lowering both costs and chemical footprint.

These traits make it a reliable asset for commercial farms looking to maximize yields by reducing plant mortality.

Market Utility and Floral Quality

With an ideal medium-height stem, this tulip is perfectly suited for standard floral compositions. The bicolored petals—a delicate blend of pink and white—are highly sought after by retailers during the peak holiday season. The dense, cup-shaped flower maintains its structural integrity during transport, ensuring high post-harvest quality for long-distance distribution. This variety is the logical choice for growers who prioritize a balance between aesthetic appeal and technical durability.
