Tulip Henk van Os

Reliability and Operational Efficiency

The 'Henk van Oss' tulip has established itself as a reliable workhorse for commercial growers. Belonging to the Triumph class, this variety is prized for its structural integrity. Operators benefit from its sturdy stem, which eliminates the need for additional support systems, saving labor hours during the most critical stages of development even in high-density greenhouse conditions.

Production and Maintenance Guidelines

• Forcing and Scheduling: Its mid-season flowering profile allows for precise supply chain management. The variety responds consistently to standard forcing protocols, reducing the risk of growth anomalies.
• Space Optimization: With its medium height, 'Henk van Oss' maximizes the utility of greenhouse square footage. Standard planting densities work efficiently with this cultivar, making cost-per-unit calculations straightforward.
• Post-Harvest Durability: The classic red petals are highly resistant to mechanical bruising, which is a major advantage during harvesting and packing. This reduces waste percentages and ensures that the final product maintains its market value during transit.

For farm operators, the predictability of this variety is its strongest asset. It is not prone to sudden stretching, allowing for stable storage in cooling units without compromising stem quality. This consistency simplifies sorting and grading processes, directly impacting the bottom line by minimizing rejected inventory and streamlining post-harvest workflows.
