Tulip Tahiti

Reliable Performance with 'Tahiti' Tulips

The 'Tahiti' tulip is a standout member of the Triumph class, widely recognized for its robustness in both greenhouse and outdoor environments. Unlike many delicate varieties, 'Tahiti' is prized for its high resistance to Fusarium wilt and tobacco mosaic virus. This biological resilience makes it an economical choice for professional growers who prioritize yield consistency over decorative experimentation.

Agronomic Profile

As a mid-season bloomer, 'Tahiti' combines a sturdy, medium-height stem with a classic, vivid red color. The bloom retains a tight, elegant goblet shape, which is essential for post-harvest longevity and transport. Its structural integrity ensures that the flowers do not droop under their own weight, a common issue in other varieties of similar height.

Why choose this variety?

• Commercial Growers: High output and minimal losses due to disease resistance maximize profit margins.
• Landscapers: The durability of the stem makes it highly resistant to spring weather, keeping flower beds neat and upright.
• Market Readiness: Its deep red shade remains a perennial favorite among consumers, ensuring high demand during peak seasons.

The primary advantage of 'Tahiti' is its predictability. However, growers should note that it requires diligent temperature control during forcing to ensure the flower reaches its full size. It is the ideal cultivar for those seeking a balance between high-end aesthetics and agricultural safety.
