Tulip Hennie van de Most

Cultivating Hennie van der Most: A Grower’s Perspective

This Triumph tulip variety is highly regarded in commercial production for its predictability and robust constitution. For an agronomist, Hennie van der Most represents a low-maintenance, high-yield asset. The stems are remarkably sturdy, standing at a medium height, which eliminates the need for extra staking and simplifies automated harvesting processes significantly. It holds up well against unpredictable weather, reducing crop loss during the growth phase.

Operational Efficiency

As a mid-season bloomer, this variety allows for efficient crop rotation management. During the forcing cycle, Hennie van der Most responds consistently to temperature variations, ensuring uniform development across the entire batch. The bulbs exhibit strong growth vigor, and the survival rate is excellent, provided that standard temperature protocols are maintained. For the farm manager, this reliability means more consistent production timelines and less labor spent on manual sorting.

Market Durability

The vibrant red and yellow petal combination remains a perennial favorite, but the real value lies in its post-harvest performance. The flower cup is dense and retains its structure throughout the supply chain, which is essential for maintaining premium pricing and minimizing shrink. These tulips resist color fading effectively and stand up well during transport, ensuring that the product reaches the end-customer with optimal shelf-life and aesthetic appeal.
