Tulip Hellas

Hellas Tulip: Late-Season Precision

The 'Hellas' tulip is a fringed variety prized by commercial growers for its predictable development and high aesthetic value. It is a strategic choice for operations targeting the end of the tulip season when premium, visually distinct flowers command the highest market prices.

Disease Resistance and Farm Management

Managing fungal threats is the biggest challenge in late-blooming production. 'Hellas' demonstrates inherent resilience against downy mildew and powdery mildew. This biological resistance reduces the dependency on frequent fungicide applications, lowering production costs and decreasing chemical impact on the soil—a vital factor for modern, sustainable agricultural practices.

Application Scenarios

• Commercial Forcing: The variety produces a high percentage of marketable stems. The tall, sturdy peduncle ensures that the flower maintains its posture during transport and retail, requiring no additional supports.
• Landscaping: Given its late blooming schedule, 'Hellas' is an excellent solution for bridging the gap in flower beds after earlier varieties have faded. Its deep red color and complex fringed edges make it a standout choice for high-end landscape projects where visual impact is the priority.

For optimal results, consistent nutrient management is required during the active growth phase to ensure the stem reaches its full potential height. 'Hellas' is effectively deployed in professional setups where quality control is the priority, ensuring consistent color depth and structural integrity throughout the late spring bloom.
