Tulip Cvanenburg

Growing and Maintenance of Zwanenburg Tulips

When selecting 'Zwanenburg' (Zwanenburg) for your cultivation plan, you are choosing a 'Triumph' class tulip known for its reliability and structural integrity. Standing at a height of 25–35 cm, this variety is highly resistant to wind damage, making it easy to manage in open field conditions without the need for additional staking or support systems.

Operational Guidelines

To ensure consistent bloom sizes of 6–8 cm, precision in planting is essential. Maintaining a spacing of 8–10 cm between bulbs is critical for optimal root development and air circulation, which helps prevent soil-borne fungal issues. Proper spacing allows each bulb to receive sufficient nutrients, directly impacting the quality and size of the flower.

• Usage: Excellent for professional cut flower production and landscape design (flowerbeds).
• Aesthetics: Deep, intense red petals featuring a striking black base, providing a bold visual impact.
• Maintenance: This variety demonstrates robust growth across various soil types in Ukraine, provided that drainage is managed correctly.

From an operational standpoint, Zwanenburg offers great durability. The stems remain firm, and the blooms hold their shape well after harvest, making them a preferred choice for local floriculture markets. During the off-season, ensure the planting site is free from waterlogging, as proper drainage is the most critical factor for maintaining bulb health year over year.
