Tulip Cristina Deutekom

Technical Specifications of Christina Deutekom

The Triumph class tulip 'Christina Deutekom' is the result of breeding programs focused on geometrical bud stability and physiological pathogen resistance. Unlike botanical species, this hybrid is optimized for both industrial and ornamental cultivation in temperate climates.

Biological Defense and Morphology

• Phytosanitary Profile: The genetic selection of this hybrid aims at enhancing immunity against a complex of fungal diseases. The plant exhibits pronounced resistance to septoria, fusarium head blight, and powdery mildew, which is critical under high planting density and high soil moisture conditions.
• Morphological Data: The plant belongs to the medium-height category. Sturdy peduncles ensure vertical stability, minimizing the risk of lodging during wind exposure.
• Phenology: Categorized as a mid-season flowering variety. The internal developmental regulation mechanism allows the petals to maintain a dense, goblet-shaped structure over an extended period.

The vibrant yellow color of the 'Christina Deutekom' petals is achieved through a high concentration of carotenoids. Integrating this hybrid into agrotechnological schemes allows for reduced expenditure on fungicidal treatments, making it an economically viable solution for both landscape designers and professional floriculturists.
