Tulip Cum Laude

The Timeless Elegance of the Cum Laude Tulip

In the competitive landscape of late-flowering bulbs, the 'Cum Laude' tulip stands out as a reliable classic. Belonging to the Single Late tulip class, this variety is prized by professional growers and landscape architects for its sophisticated, muted lilac petals. Its ability to maintain structural integrity while providing a unique color palette makes it a staple for late-spring displays.

Resilience and Field Performance

What truly sets 'Cum Laude' apart from modern, high-maintenance hybrids is its biological robustness. In an era where soil-borne diseases often compromise bulb plantations, this variety displays notable genetic resistance to:

• Fusarium wilt: reducing crop loss in the field.
• Verticillium wilt: providing greater security during the growth cycle.

As a tall-growing variety, it serves as an excellent "backbone" plant for perennial borders or large-scale monoculture beds. Its late blooming schedule ensures that the garden retains interest well after early-season bulbs have faded. Because of its sturdy stems and high-quality floral head, 'Cum Laude' is consistently favored for commercial cut-flower production, proving that a variety does not need to be new to remain relevant in the industry.
