Tulip Dakar

Market Status and Reputation in the Triumph Class

The 'Dakar' tulip stands out as one of the most balanced representatives of the Triumph group. Varieties in this class are considered the "gold standard" of commercial floriculture, as they combine the elegance of classic goblet-shaped blooms with the structural integrity required for both industrial forcing and professional landscaping.

Agrotechnical Profile

Dakar differentiates itself among mid-season tulips through its notable resistance to pathogens that typically limit bulb production. Its immune system effectively manages:

• Root rots, which is critical when maintaining high-density planting schemes;
• Downy mildew, often prevalent during spring temperature fluctuations;
• Powdery mildew, allowing the plant to retain its decorative value even in crowded beds.

The plant reaches a medium height, ensuring the stem maintains necessary rigidity. Unlike some taller hybrids, Dakar is not prone to lodging under the weight of its dense, bright yellow blooms, making it a reliable choice for consistent visual impact.

Commercial Application

In the professional sector, this variety is valued for its predictability. For agricultural enterprises focused on mid-season bloom, Dakar serves as a reliable tool for production planning. Its vibrant yellow color offers strong market appeal, while the uniformity of the crop allows for optimized harvesting—whether mechanized or manual. This reliability makes the variety a top choice for both commercial cut-flower greenhouses and landscape designers managing public park spaces.
