Tulip Fortissimo

Stability and Vibrancy: Why Fortissimo is a Professional Choice

The Triumph class tulip 'Fortissimo' is the go-to choice for those who prioritize reliability. Unlike many varieties prone to rapid bulb degradation or sensitivity to temperature fluctuations, this hybrid demonstrates remarkable endurance. Its primary advantage is a comprehensive immune system, a rare trait for bulbous plants. Resistance to anthracnose, root rot, downy mildew, ascochyta blight, and powdery mildew significantly reduces the need for fungicide treatments, which is critical for industrial forcing.

Visual Characteristics and Application Strategy

The bright yellow petals of 'Fortissimo' maintain their intensity throughout the entire flowering period. The classic goblet-shaped bud, characteristic of the Triumph group, holds its shape firmly without over-opening, even at the peak of maturity. Its average stem height makes the variety versatile: it performs excellently both in spring flowerbeds and as a cut flower, fitting perfectly into standard floral bouquet requirements.

• Timing: A mid-season flowering hybrid, convenient for mid-season supply scheduling.
• Health: This variety is forgiving for less experienced growers due to its high resistance to major pathogens.
• Cut flower: Features excellent vase life and transportability.

'Fortissimo' doesn't aim to stun with exotic shapes; its true value lies in its predictability. For farming operations, this translates to a consistent output of marketable flowers with minimal culling rates. If your goal is to build demand for a high-quality yellow tulip that will not fail during the flowering season, this variety should be the foundation of your collection.
