Tulip Nova Zembla

Technical Profile and Morphology

The 'Nova Zembla' tulip belongs to the Triumph class, which dictates its key structural features: a rigid stem and a classic goblet-shaped bud. This variety occupies the mid-season blooming niche, combining the resilience of garden tulips with the aesthetic standards required for professional forcing.

Biological Resistance

The selection process for this hybrid focused on mitigating common bulbous plant risks in industrial cultivation. The variety shows high resistance to major pathogens:

• Powdery Mildew: a dense leaf cuticle prevents mycelium penetration.
• Scab: genetic protection of the root system and the basal plate minimizes rot in high-soil-moisture environments.

Visual Characteristics and Agronomic Application

The petal coloration shifts from a saturated yellow to delicate cream tones. This gradient palette maintains its intensity even under direct sunlight, a result of stable tissue pigmentation. The medium-height stem makes this variety highly versatile: it maintains structural integrity against wind lodging while staying within the height range optimal for both dense floral arrangements and cut flower production.

In practical terms, the variety demonstrates rapid vegetative recovery following early spring frosts, which is critical for regions with volatile weather during the early growth stages.
