Tulip Character

A Sunny Accent for Your Garden: The Character Tulip

The 'Character' tulip belongs to the Triumph class, the most sought-after category for professional forcing and landscape design. Its key advantage over hundreds of alternatives lies in the impeccable geometry of its bloom and a rich, almost 'creamy' yellow hue that maintains its color purity until the end of the flowering period.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

The main challenge for mid-late season tulips is their vulnerability to fungal infections during spring temperature fluctuations. 'Character' stands out from its competitors due to its genetic resistance to:

• Downy mildew;
• Powdery mildew;
• Root rot.

This makes it a favorite for sites with heavy soil or regions with high spring humidity. You get a sturdy, medium-height stem that resists strong winds and does not require support structures.

Who is this variety for?

For commercial growers, this tulip ensures predictable results: simultaneous blooming in the mid-season and high-quality bulbs. In private gardening, it is optimal for creating monochromatic borders; thanks to its dense bloom and rot resistance, it holds its shape longer than others, retaining its aesthetic appeal even after the first spring rains.

A minor drawback: like all Triumph group varieties, 'Character' requires annual lifting to ensure proper development of the daughter bulbs. With proper agronomic practices, it demonstrates an excellent propagation rate, allowing you to quickly expand your collection without excessive costs.
