Tulip Alice Leclercq

Bud Architecture and Early Blooming Potential

The 'Alice Leclerc' tulip belongs to the early double flowering category. Technically, this signifies the dominance of genetic traits that ensure an accelerated vegetation cycle. Unlike standard goblet-shaped tulips, this hybrid features an increased number of perianths, creating a dense, peony-like structure.

Morphological Units

• Color Configuration: Petal pigmentation ranges from intense red to deep orange. High concentrations of anthocyanins and carotenoids in the epidermis ensure color stability despite early spring temperature fluctuations.
• Stem Dimensions: This is a low-growing variety. The low center of gravity is a key engineering advantage of this cultivar: it provides high resistance to lodging during strong spring winds and heavy rainfall.
• Double Bloom: The tight packing of petals within the bud creates a 'multi-layered' effect, which visually increases the volume of the flower even at its compact physical size.

Practical application of this variety is primarily limited to the foreground of flower beds, border plantings, and greenhouse forcing. Due to its short stature, the variety demonstrates minimal energy expenditure for nutrient transport from the root system to the bud, making it one of the most resilient solutions for the early market segment. Under greenhouse conditions, the variety is responsive to intensive light regimes, allowing for precise control over blooming schedules.
