Tulip Alyans

Peony-Flowered Elegance

The 'Alliance' tulip belongs to the Early Double (Double Early) group, highly prized for its dense, peony-like flower heads. Unlike standard single tulips, this variety offers a high visual impact due to its heavy, multiple-petalled structure. Its deep red hue makes it a focal point in any spring landscape, while its medium stem height ensures stability against unpredictable spring winds.

Resilience and Disease Resistance

What sets the 'Alliance' apart from many commercial hybrids is its robust biological profile. While many tulips require intensive fungicide applications to survive the damp spring season, the 'Alliance' displays a natural resistance to a significant range of pathogens:

• Peronospora (Downy mildew);
• Phomopsis and Phoma;
• Rust.

These traits make it a practical, sustainable choice for gardeners who prefer minimizing chemical inputs in their soil while still enjoying high-quality blossoms.

Optimal Use and Limitations

This variety is perfect for growers seeking a balance between high-end aesthetics and field reliability. Its mid-season blooming window helps bridge the gap between the earliest spring bulbs and late-season flowers, keeping the garden colorful for longer.

A note on cultivation: Like most double-flowered varieties, 'Alliance' requires well-draining soil. Because of the density of the petals, heavy spring rains can cause water to pool in the buds if the site is in a low-lying, poorly drained area. To get the best result, ensure the bulbs are planted in porous soil to avoid crown rot, allowing this vigorous variety to thrive to its full potential.
