Triticale variety TOPAZ is a winter variety included in the state register for the Central region with an expanded permission for the East Siberian region. The plant is characterized by medium flowering time and a vegetation period from 300 to 322 days. High winter hardiness and frost resistance allow the variety to successfully withstand May frosts down to –10-11°C. Plants are of medium height (79-110 cm) with high resistance to lodging, white ear, medium length (9.5-11.5 cm), fully awned and of medium density. Grain is light red, medium size, with 1000-grain mass varying from 36.1 to 54.7 g. Average yield in the Central region is 44.7 c/ha, which exceeds the average standard by 4.0 c/ha, and maximum productivity potential reaches over 10 t/ha. The variety is characterized by resistance to powdery mildew, septoria, hard fusarium, and moderate resistance to stem rust, as well as high resistance to root rots.
