Triticale Topaz

Triticale variety TOPAZ is a winter variety included in the state register for the Central region with an expanded permission for the East Siberian region. The plant is characterized by medium flowering time and a vegetation period from 300 to 322 days. High winter hardiness and frost resistance allow the variety to successfully withstand May frosts down to –10-11°C. Plants are of medium height (79-110 cm) with high resistance to lodging, white ear, medium length (9.5-11.5 cm), fully awned and of medium density. Grain is light red, medium size, with 1000-grain mass varying from 36.1 to 54.7 g. Average yield in the Central region is 44.7 c/ha, which exceeds the average standard by 4.0 c/ha, and maximum productivity potential reaches over 10 t/ha. The variety is characterized by resistance to powdery mildew, septoria, hard fusarium, and moderate resistance to stem rust, as well as high resistance to root rots.

TOPAZ possesses a complex of important agronomic qualities that make it attractive for cultivation in various climatic conditions. High winter hardiness and disease resistance ensure yield stability and reduce the need for intensive chemical protection. Medium vegetation period length allows using the variety in regions with different durations of the warm season. Due to good grain filling and its quality characteristics, the variety is suitable for various application directions.

Thus, triticale variety TOPAZ represents a high-yielding and adverse-factor-resistant variety that can be successfully cultivated in the Central and East Siberian regions. Its agro-technical characteristics and resistance to major diseases make it a profitable choice for farmers seeking to obtain a stable and quality crop.
