ARGUS is a winter triticale variety included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements and recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Central, Volga-Vyatka, Central Non-Black Earth, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, and Ural regions. The variety is intended for grain use and is characterized by medium plant height, reaching about 70 cm in arid conditions and up to 122 cm on a high agrobackground. The vegetative period ranges from 264 to 319 days, ensuring adaptation to various climatic conditions. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 44 to 48 grams, and the protein content in the grain reaches 17.3%, indicating high crop quality.

ARGUS differs in high yield, which in various regions significantly exceeds average indicators. For example, in the Central region, the average yield is 48 c/ha with an increase of 6.7 c/ha over the standard, in the Lower Volga region — 48.2 c/ha with an increase of 8.1 c/ha, and in the Oryol region, the maximum yield reached 97 c/ha. The variety exhibits high resistance to lodging and shattering, as well as increased winter hardiness comparable to the Consul and Kornet varieties. Drought resistance of ARGUS is above average, making it a reliable choice for regions with unpredictable weather conditions.

In addition, the variety demonstrates high resistance to various pathogens. In field conditions, it is not affected by dusty and solid smut, is resistant to stem rust, septoria, and head fusarium. Under artificial infection, the variety is not affected by yellow rust, is weakly affected by pyrenophora, and possesses high resistance to root rots. These qualities make ARGUS a promising variety for growing in agricultural enterprises seeking to obtain high-quality grain yields.
