Description Oxtan
Occitan corn is a mid-season, high-yielding hybrid with a FAO number of 360, intended for grain, silage, and biogas production. This hybrid features a strong root system, an excellent stalk with abundant leaves, and short, evenly arranged ears with husks longer than the ears themselves. The kernels have a cream-toothed type and a warm yellow color, ensuring high-quality yield.

Occitan exhibits high resistance to various diseases, including root and stalk rots, powdery mildew, helminthosporiosis, and rust, as well as lodging resistance. The hybrid demonstrates excellent drought tolerance, cold tolerance, and stress resistance, enabling it to consistently deliver high yields under diverse climatic conditions. Its rapid early growth and quick moisture release during maturation make it suitable for cultivation in Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones.

To achieve maximum productivity, Occitan should be planted at an optimal population density of 45,000 to 70,000 plants per hectare, with balanced mineral nutrition and optimal irrigation. The hybrid performs especially well on fertile soils when planted early and with increased fertilizer rates, ensuring a stable and high yield.
