The Pudik triticale variety was created based on the hybrid combination Raritet/ХАД 7 and belongs to winter crops, suberitrospermum type. Plants reach a height of 90-100 cm, have a spindle-shaped, dense and long ear with short awns located in the upper half of the ear. The grain is large, elongated, yellow-white and well-filled, with a 1000-grain weight of 46-54 g. The upper internode pubescence is weak, and the lemma pubescence is absent, which is a characteristic feature of this variety.
Pudik is a medium-maturing variety with high winter hardiness and drought resistance. It has lodging resistance rated at 9 points and disease resistance rated at 8-9 points, ensuring reliable cultivation in recommended zones — Forest Steppe and Polissia. The potential grain yield exceeds 12 t/ha, while the average yield over three years of competitive trials was 8.2 t/ha, which is 1.63 t/ha higher than the standard Raritet.
The feed and baking qualities of the Pudik variety's grain are excellent. The protein content in the grain reaches 12.8%, gluten — 26%, gluten deformation index (IDK) — 60 conditional points, flour strength varies from 180 to 200 conditional units. The bread volume is 680-750 ml, indicating high flour quality and excellent technological properties of the grain. The variety has been registered in the state register since 2020 and is recommended for cultivation in the Forest Steppe and Polissia regions.
