Tradescantia Tenderness

Aesthetic Appeal Meets Resilience

The 'Nezhnost' (Tenderness) Tradescantia is a product of Russian selection, specifically developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production (FNCVO) to provide stable, reliable performance in landscape design. Unlike many imported hybrids that struggle with local weather fluctuations, this variety is well-adapted to temperate climates, making it a dependable choice for garden enthusiasts.

Habit and Key Characteristics

The plant forms a compact, yet striking clump, reaching heights of 50 to 70 cm. Its lush green foliage retains its decorative value throughout the entire growing season, while the flowering period, which spans 90 to 120 days, ensures a prolonged visual impact in any border or garden bed.

• Reliability: Local breeding ensures high resistance to region-specific temperature shifts.
• Growth Dynamics: The ideal height makes it versatile, perfect for mid-tier garden beds or as a focal point in borders.
• Visual Quality: The foliage maintains its vibrant, saturated green color well into late autumn, ensuring the garden looks groomed for longer.

Is 'Nezhnost' Right for You?

This variety is an optimal solution for those seeking a balance between aesthetic appeal and low maintenance. 'Nezhnost' does not require constant, daily care, making it ideal for landscaping country homes, public parks, or open patios. Its main strength lies in its predictability—you know exactly what size and form the plant will achieve, allowing for precise garden planning.

Potential Drawbacks: Like most Tradescantia, this variety is sensitive to soil moisture levels. During periods of extreme drought, its decorative appearance can suffer. To maintain its signature delicate look, regular watering and mulching are highly recommended.
