Tobacco Ternopil 14

A Reliable Choice for Quality Tobacco Production

"Ternopilsky 14" is a proven tobacco variety developed by the Ternopil Institute of Agro-Industrial Production. It is a staple in Ukrainian agriculture, valued for its predictable performance and ability to produce high-quality leaf even under variable outdoor growing conditions.

Practical Application in Farming

This variety is primarily targeted at farmers focusing on the production of raw material for cigars and pipe tobacco. Its early-maturing nature is a significant advantage, allowing growers to complete the harvest before the onset of late-autumn rains, ensuring the structural integrity of the leaf.

• Disease Resistance: The variety features natural genetic resistance to tobacco mosaic virus, powdery mildew, and black root rot. This allows for a significant reduction in fungicide applications, lowering production costs and improving the sustainability of the crop.
• Handling and Harvesting: The plants reach a height of 180–200 cm. Its large-leaf structure simplifies the harvesting process, reducing manual labor time and minimizing mechanical damage to the leaves during handling.
• Quality Profile: With a nicotine content of 1.0–2.0%, "Ternopilsky 14" serves as an excellent base for blending. It offers the specific strength and burn qualities required for cigar-type tobacco, making it highly versatile for craft processors.

"Ternopilsky 14" does not require specialized growing techniques. It performs best in well-drained, fertile soil protected from strong winds that could damage the large foliage. Given its balanced characteristics, it is an optimal choice for both commercial operations and smaller agricultural enterprises looking for a low-maintenance, high-yield tobacco variety.
