TRAPEZOND 92 is an early-maturing tobacco variety with low nicotine content (around 1%) and high smoking properties. In terms of strength, aroma, taste, and sweetness, it scores 38.3 points, making it attractive for both cigarettes and pipe tobacco.
The plant has a cylindrical shape with large oval leaves of light green color. Usually, there are 28 to 30 leaves per plant. The variety is resistant to root rot, tobacco mosaic, and downy mildew, ensuring a stable yield of first-class commercial raw material within 85–90%. The yield is 3.5–3.7 kg/m².
For growing TRAPEZOND 92, it is recommended to sow seedling seeds in late March-April. Before planting, fill the container with slightly moist soil (three parts sandy loam topsoil and one part well-rotted manure), then level the surface, evenly distribute the seeds, gently press them into the substrate, and moisten. After covering with film, place the seedlings in a bright, warm place, ventilating and watering daily via the tray. Young seedlings are transplanted into open ground in mid-to-late May at a distance of 50–70 cm. From mid-July, tobacco harvesting and drying begins; fermentation is carried out before use.
Thus, TRAPEZOND 92 combines ease of cultivation, disease resistance, and high-quality smoking product, making it a sought-after choice for cigarette and pipe tobacco manufacturers.
