Weydlevsky 11 sunflower is a high-yielding hybrid developed for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including northern and mid-latitudes of Russia. This variety is characterized by high yield and stable growth, as well as good winter hardiness and adaptability to different soil-climate zones. The vegetative period is about 136-139 days, which allows the hybrid to develop successfully in the central strip and regions with moderate moisture.
The hybrid belongs to the medium-early and very early maturity groups, ensuring timely ripening and harvest collection. Plants reach an average height of 150-170 cm, have green leaf color and yellow ray florets with pronounced marginal seed stripes. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 52 to 55.4 grams. Weydlevsky 11 has a high oil content in seeds — from 47.8% to 53.2%, making it particularly valuable for oilseed production. Average oil yield reaches 7.2-8.7 c/ha depending on the growing region.
The hybrid is resistant to downy mildew (according to Clearfield®Plus technology), which significantly reduces crop losses from this parasite. However, it is susceptible to some diseases, such as phoma, downy mildew, and white rot, so it requires appropriate agro-technical care. It is recommended to avoid overthickening plantings and not to use the hybrid in regions with excessive moisture supply. Weydlevsky 11 is plastic to sowing dates and shows stable results even on poor soils, making it suitable for low-cost farming.
