Florimi is a medium-early simple hybrid sunflower with a vegetation period of 105 to 112 days, making it versatile for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine. Plants reach a height of 150–175 cm, have a medium stem thickness, and a flower head diameter of 20–22 cm. The hybrid’s root system is deeply developed, exceeding 1.7 meters, which enhances drought resistance and nutrient uptake. Florimi exhibits high resistance to lodging, simplifying harvest and reducing yield losses.
One of the key features of the hybrid is its high disease resistance, including genetic tolerance to sclerotinia, phomopsis, white mold, and to 1–7 races of the parasitic weed — downy mildew and race 730 of false powdery mildew. This protection significantly reduces fungicide costs and ensures crop preservation even under high humidity and adverse weather conditions. Additionally, the hybrid is tolerant to herbicides in the imidazolinone group, simplifying agronomy and reducing the number of treatments.
Florimi is a high-oil hybrid with seed oil content of 50–53%, making it especially attractive for sunflower oil production. Its potential yield reaches 54 centners per hectare, and the hybrid responds well to fertilizers and is tolerant to dense planting. The recommended planting density varies depending on the moisture level of the zone: 70–75 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 65–70 thousand in less watered zones. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, Florimi is suitable for cultivation using various technologies across all regions of Ukraine.
