Potato variety FAKEL is a Russian medium-early table variety with a vegetation period of 65 to 80 days. Tubers have a round shape, smooth yellow skin, and white flesh. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 94 to 138 grams, and the number of tubers per plant reaches 8-14. The starch content is 19.2-23.1%, making this variety suitable for various culinary purposes, including baking and making mashed potatoes. Taste qualities are rated as good to excellent, and tuber storability reaches 95%, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss.

The plant is tall, with semi-erect leaves of medium size and large red-purple flower clusters. The variety demonstrates high market yield, ranging from 114 to 185 centners per hectare, with a maximum of 220 centners, comparable to standard varieties such as Nevskiy and Charovod. Potato FAKEL is well-adapted to cultivation in the Central Chernozem and Middle Volga regions of Russia, and successfully grows on sandy soils.

The variety is resistant to potato late blight and highly resistant to common scab, as well as resistant to root-knot nematode. However, it is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and moderately resistant to phytophthora on both foliage and tubers. Standard agronomic practices are recommended for cultivation, making this variety accessible and convenient for farmers aiming to achieve a stable and high-quality harvest.
