Tuscany sunflower is a high-yielding hybrid of the oilseed type, characterized by a medium-early maturity group (115-120 days) and high yield potential, reaching 47-52 c/ha. Plants have medium height from 150 to 170 cm, and the head diameter is 22-24 cm. Seeds are large, black, with high oil content — from 49 to 53%, and oleic acid content reaches 90%, making this hybrid especially valuable for producing high-quality oil.
The Tuscany hybrid exhibits high resistance to various diseases and stress factors. It shows excellent tolerance to Phomopsis, Verticillium, false powdery mildew, rust, as well as sclerotinia of both head and stem. Additionally, the plant is resistant to drought and mechanical damage, confirmed by high resistance scores from 6 to 9 points in various categories. Seedlings are treated with the fungicide Maxim XL, which provides reliable protection against fungal infections.
Tuscany sunflower is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, including steppes, forest-steppe, and lowland areas. Its strong root system promotes good growth and adaptation to growing conditions. The head is downward-facing, facilitating harvest. Thanks to its combination of high yield, disease resistance, and oil quality, this hybrid is among the market leaders and an optimal choice for intensive and sustainable sunflower oil production.
