ES Genesis is an early simple hybrid sunflower for oilseed purposes, characterized by high drought tolerance and resistance to various races of downy mildew, including race G. The maturity period ranges from 90 to 105 days, allowing for an early harvest and timely field clearance for subsequent crops. Seeds are black, large, with a 1000-seed weight of about 64 grams, containing up to 48% oil, making this hybrid attractive for oil production.
Plants reach a height of 160-165 cm, have a medium-diameter head (20-22 cm) that leans downward, and possess a medium-thick stem with high leafiness. ES Genesis exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases, including rust, false powdery mildew, verticillium, fomopsis, and sclerotinia of head and stem. Thanks to Clearfield Plus technology, the hybrid is resistant to the herbicide Euro-Lightning Plus, enabling effective weed control and reducing fertilizer costs.
Recommended growing zones include Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Northern Steppe of Ukraine. Seeding rates vary depending on soil moisture: 45-50 thousand seeds per hectare under insufficient moisture, and 60-65 thousand under sufficient moisture. ES Genesis demonstrates a stable high yield potential of up to 5.1 tons per hectare, combining with its drought and disease resistance to make it a profitable choice for farmers aiming for efficient and high-quality sunflower production.
