EU Genesis is an early hybrid of oil sunflower, characterized by high drought resistance and resistance to sunflower stem rust (A-G). The vegetative period of the hybrid ranges from 90 to 105 days, allowing for a quick harvest. Plants reach a height of about 160-165 cm, have a sturdy stem of medium thickness, and high leafiness, which ensures resistance to lodging even under unfavorable weather conditions. The head is of medium size with a diameter of 20-22 cm, inclined downwards, while the seeds are large, black, with an oil content of about 48% and a 1000-seed weight of about 64 g. The EU Genesis hybrid exhibits high resistance to the main sunflower diseases, including rust, powdery mildew, verticillium, phoma, fomosis, as well as head and stem sclerotinia. Thanks to genetic resistance to herbicides from the imidazoline group, the hybrid is grown using the Clearfield Plus technology, which improves weed control efficiency without long-term negative impact on the soil. This technology is particularly effective in agro-climatic zones of Northern Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie. EU Genesis is characterized by a high yield potential of up to 5.1 t/ha (51 c/ha) and adapts well to various growing conditions. The recommended seeding rate is 60-65 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 50-55 thousand plants per hectare in zones with insufficient moisture. The hybrid is suitable for intensive farming and demonstrates stable yield indicators in various regions, making it an optimal choice for farmers seeking a high-quality sunflower harvest.
