ES Belfis — a mid-early hybrid sunflower for oil production, selected by Euralis, intended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, steppe, and forest-steppe. The hybrid is characterized by high adaptability and stable yield, reaching approximately 50 t/ha, making it a profitable choice for oil production. The vegetation period ranges from 104 to 110 days, and from emergence to flowering it takes approximately 68–70 days. Plants are of medium height — 160–175 cm, with strong stems and a robust root system, ensuring resistance to lodging and adverse weather conditions. The sunflower head has a diameter of 22–24 cm and is slightly downward-tilted; seeds are large, black, and contain high oil content — from 48 to 52%. The high oil content in seeds makes the hybrid particularly valuable for the oilseed industry. To protect against fungal diseases, seeds are treated with the fungicide seed treatment Boost&Go, which helps preserve crop health and increase yield. ES Belfis exhibits enhanced resistance to major sunflower diseases, such as false powdery mildew, head and stem rot, frogepsis, black mold, verticillium, alternaria, sclerotinia, and rust. The hybrid also shows high tolerance to drought, pests, and parasitic plants. Additionally, it is adapted to the application of Clearfield® Plus herbicides, facilitating weed control and improving cultivation efficiency.
