Sunflower Folk — an early-maturing, high-yielding hybrid developed by VNILS for the Express technology with herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl (50 g/ha). The vegetation period ranges from 95 to 110 days, enabling stable yields in a short time. The hybrid features intensive growth, plant height from 165 to 180 cm, and a strong root system that ensures resistance to lodging and stress factors.
Folk exhibits high resistance to a broad spectrum of diseases, including false powdery mildew, rust, phomopsis, phomosis, gray and white rot, as well as to 7 races of sunflower downy mildew. Due to these qualities and adaptation to conditions of insufficient moisture, the hybrid is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine. The flower head diameter ranges from 18 to 23 cm, with a convex and semi-tilted shape.
The hybrid is characterized by high oil content in seeds — from 49 to 55%, making it attractive for the oil industry. Yield potential reaches 5.6 t/ha when recommended seeding rates are followed, which vary depending on soil moisture. Sunflower Folk combines high productivity, disease resistance, and tolerance to adverse conditions, ensuring stable and high-quality yields.
