NS Taurus is a medium-maturing sunflower hybrid of Serbian selection, developed by specialists of the "Novi Sad" Institute. This hybrid is characterized by high productivity and is adapted to various climatic conditions in Ukraine, including southern and eastern regions. The potential yield of NS Taurus reaches 55-60 c/ha, making it one of the most efficient varieties for commercial cultivation.
One of the key features of NS Taurus is its high resistance to the herbicide Euro Lightning and five strains of diseases caused by imidazolinone group herbicides, which enables effective weed control and protection against wolf damage. The hybrid also exhibits excellent resistance to major leaf and stem diseases, drought, and strains of downy mildew A-F. Thanks to these qualities, NS Taurus is capable of forming stable and high yields even under challenging agroclimatic conditions and on infested fields.
Plants have a medium-sized, branched root system, stem height from 160 to 170 cm, and a thin, convex flower head with a diameter of 20-23 cm. Seeds are large, black, with oil content of 47-53% and protein content of 16-18%, making the hybrid valuable for producing high-quality oil. Recommended for cultivation using Clearfield technology, which provides additional protection and effectiveness in weed control.
