Sunflower LS SUNPRISE

Genetic Resilience and Yield Potential

The «LS Sunprize» hybrid by French breeder Laboulet Semences represents a robust solution for modern sunflower production. Standing at 160–170 cm, the plant is engineered for maximum resource efficiency. The key design goal here is to balance high oil content (45–50%) with a strong phytosanitary profile, allowing growers to maintain productivity even in challenging environmental conditions.

Technological Adaptability

The major competitive advantage of LS Sunprize is its full compatibility with the Clearfield production system (Euro-Lightning). This allows for post-emergence weed control without crop suppression, maximizing the genetic yield potential. With a vegetation period of 100–110 days, this hybrid fits perfectly into most crop rotation cycles, ensuring reliable maturation and efficient harvesting.

Pathogen Resistance Profile

Laboulet Semences has prioritized natural defense mechanisms within the hybrid’s genetics. The plant provides significant resistance to a wide array of sunflower pathogens:

• White and Grey rot: Critical for maintaining head integrity.
• Downy mildew: Ensuring strong plant density from early stages.
• Phomopsis and Phoma: Protecting the vascular system to prevent premature lodging and desiccation.

The characteristic black, narrow-egg-shaped seeds offer excellent physical parameters for processing, ensuring that the farmer receives a high-quality, high-oil crop.
