Description HAMBUR
Sugar beet HAMBUR is a single-seed triploid first-generation hybrid (F1), developed by LION SEEDS LTD. This mid-late variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Central Black Earth, as well as Krasnodar Krai, Penza region, Republic of Adygea, and Rostov region. HAMBUR is characterized by high root crop yield, which averages 439-478 centners per hectare, with sugar content in root crops ranging from 17.9% to 19.0%. The average root crop weight is about 550 grams, and sugar recovery varies from 73 to 86 centners per hectare depending on the growing region.

The hybrid demonstrates resistance to a number of pests and diseases. In particular, in the North Caucasus and Middle Volga regions, it is weakly affected by root worm, although in some zones strong infection by cercosporosis and powdery mildew is noted. Such resistance allows to reduce crop losses and improve product quality, which is especially important for industrial sugar production.

A feature of the HAMBUR variety is its use in the CVS (Controlled Vegetation System) technology, aimed at managing sugar beet vegetation. This technology includes pre-sowing seed treatment, which improves germination and protects plants from pests and diseases. Within CVS, herbicides, fungicides, agrochemicals for foliar feeding, and preservative Kagatnik are used, which helps preserve the crop for 90-120 days. Use of this system allows optimizing plant growth and development, increasing yield and sugar content, ensuring stable and high indicators when growing sugar beet HAMBUR.
