LMS 96

LMS 96 is a mid-season hybrid of sugar beet, developed based on a single-seed triploid plant of the N type. It is characterized by high yield and good technological characteristics, making it in demand for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Black Earth, Lower Volga, and Ural. The average yield of root crops reaches 414 c/ha, and the sugar content varies depending on the region, averaging 15.7–18.7%, which ensures a high sugar harvest of up to 82 c/ha.

The hybrid possesses resistance to root rot, which significantly reduces crop losses and improves product quality. Furthermore, LMS 96 demonstrates good adaptability to various growing conditions and resistance to a number of diseases, including powdery mildew and cercosporosis, which contributes to crop stability and reduced costs for plant protection.

This variety of sugar beet was bred at the Lygov Experimental and Breeding Station and recommended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth, Lower Volga, and Ural regions.
