Fushia CL is a mid-early linoleic sunflower hybrid developed by Lidea and intended for cultivation using Clearfield technology. The hybrid’s vegetative period ranges from 106 to 115 days, enabling successful cultivation in various climatic conditions. Plants reach a height of 150-170 cm, and the head diameter is 22-24 cm with a downward tilt of 135°, which helps protect against sunburn and moisture. The 1000-seed weight is 50 g, and oil content varies from 48 to 51%, making the hybrid economically advantageous for oil production.
The Fushia CL hybrid exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including Phomopsis, Phomoid, false powdery mildew, verticillium, and sclerotinia affecting both heads and stems. It is genetically resistant to 9 races of false powdery mildew and 5 races of downy mildew (Peronospora), and it demonstrates high drought tolerance, confirmed by a rating of 9 points. Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to imidazolinone herbicides (e.g., Evrolighting), allowing cultivation on fields infested with downy mildew and other diseases.
The recommended planting density for Fushia CL depends on moisture conditions: in well-watered zones — 60-65 thousand plants per hectare, in less watered zones — 55-60 thousand plants per hectare. The hybrid demonstrates stable and high yield potential, reaching up to 55 centners per hectare, confirmed by successful cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kirovohrad regions. Its high oil content and resistance to adverse conditions make Fushia CL an attractive choice for farmers seeking a high-quality and stable yield.
