Sugar beet Proteus

Stable Sugar Beet Yields with Maribo Seed

In modern sugar beet production, selecting a hybrid is a balancing act between yield potential and stress tolerance. Unlike many competitors that concentrate solely on root mass, this hybrid prioritizes pest resistance and consistent sugar accumulation.

Why does 'Proteus' stand out from the competition?

The core strength of this hybrid is its multifaceted defensive profile. It demonstrates remarkable resilience against a wide range of pests: from beet flea beetles affecting young sprouts to weevils and various cutworm species. This allows farmers to reduce pesticide applications during critical growth stages, significantly optimizing operational costs.

• Reduced Insecticide Costs: The natural resistance to a complex of pests minimizes the risk of losing crop density during the early development phases.
• Operational Efficiency: The hybrid is tailored for intensive farming practices, requiring a quick response to fertilizers and micronutrients.
• Danish Breeding Quality: Maribo Seed focuses on the genetic integrity of their materials, ensuring uniform emergence even under inconsistent weather conditions.

Who is this hybrid for?

'Proteus' is an ideal choice for farms operating in regions with high pest pressure. If your goal is to minimize the impact of pests on final sugar content and root size without relying on excessive chemical interventions, this hybrid will justify your investment. It doesn't just deliver a yield; it provides predictability, which is critical in an environment of volatile sugar market prices.
