Sugar beet SY Belana

Stable Yields Under High Pathogen Pressure

The "SI Belana" sugar beet hybrid from Syngenta is a specialized solution for agricultural enterprises facing aggressive leaf disease development. In the Swiss manufacturer’s selection line, this hybrid occupies the niche of a "resilient shield," allowing farmers to minimize fungicide application costs during critical vegetation phases.

Phytosanitary Potential

The key advantage of "SI Belana" is its genetically embedded tolerance to a wide range of threats. While many intensive hybrids require strict adherence to spraying schedules, this variety demonstrates high field resistance against:

• Cercospora leaf spot, the primary threat to industrial sugar beet crops;
• Ramularia leaf spot, which causes premature decay of the foliage;
• Powdery mildew;
• Various types of rot, including charcoal rot (Ashy stem blight).

This does not mean abandoning chemical protection, but it significantly expands the "window" of opportunity for the farmer, allowing for delayed treatment schedules without critical yield losses.

Root Crop Characteristics

The variety is characterized by a compact root size. This is a crucial detail for agronomists: high planting density and uniformity of the beets facilitate mechanical harvesting, reducing losses during combine operations. The hybrid is optimal for farms using intensive cultivation technologies that prioritize not only gross yield but also logistics quality and crop shelf life during storage.

Who Should Choose "SI Belana"?

This hybrid is the choice of professionals working in regions with high humidity or climatic risks that favor infection spread. If you are looking to reduce pesticide pressure on the soil and seek predictable harvest results, "SI Belana" is a reliable tool for your Syngenta crop rotation strategy.
