Sugar beet of the Melody variety is a medium-maturing, high-yielding, sugar-rich variety, distinguished by high yield and sugar content in roots of 16–18%, making it one of the best options for processing. The roots have medium size, white color, and weigh approximately 500–600 grams. The leaf blades are of medium size, green or light-green in color. A notable feature of the variety is the low number of thin roots, which significantly simplifies harvest.

Melody exhibits resistance to several diseases, including root rot, cercosporosis, rust, and powdery mildew, which enhances cultivation reliability and reduces crop losses. The plant tolerates minor frosts well, but sowing is recommended at soil temperatures of +5–6 °C. Successful cultivation requires a sunny site with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil containing organic and mineral substances at a pH level of 6.5–7%. It is important to avoid waterlogging during irrigation and to ensure regular weed removal, applying herbicides after the emergence of two true leaves.

For sowing Melody sugar beet, prepare furrows with row spacing of approximately 45–50 cm and plant spacing within rows of 10–15 cm. It is advisable to apply boron before sowing to prevent black growths and crusts on roots. Irrigation before sowing promotes good seed germination. Harvesting takes place at the end of September to the beginning of October, ensuring high-quality roots with high sugar content and minimal losses.
