Sugar beet Melodia

Crop Stability with High Phytosanitary Protection

The sugar beet hybrid 'Melodia' from the Polish breeding center KHBC Sp. z o.o. is a classic normal-yield type (NE) hybrid. In modern intensive farming, where pathogens are becoming increasingly aggressive, this hybrid stands out due to its complex resistance to a wide range of diseases.

Key Advantages

• Foliar Health: 'Melodia' demonstrates high tolerance to cercospora leaf spot, powdery mildew, and rust. This is critical for maintaining foliage photosynthetic activity until late autumn, which directly impacts sugar accumulation.
• Root Protection: Genetic resistance to root rot helps minimize yield losses in fields with high infection pressure.
• Predictability: The medium size of the root crop and the stable NE type make this hybrid a reliable tool for agronomists seeking a balance between yield and harvest efficiency.

Who is this hybrid for? 'Melodia' is optimal for farms looking for the 'golden mean': high crop protection while maintaining a predictable yield level. It forgives many errors in fungicide application systems due to its innate genetic hardiness, though it reaches its full potential on fertile soils with proper crop rotation.

A potential drawback of this hybrid is its medium yield potential compared to highly specialized, high-performance varieties that require perfect growing conditions. However, if the priority is stability and raw material quality rather than extreme production volume, the Polish breeding from KHBC consistently delivers excellent results.
