Sugar beet KWS SMART CALLEDONIA

A Technological Breakthrough in Crop Protection

The «Smart Caledonia KWS» sugar beet from the German breeding giant KWS is the embodiment of the SMART concept in modern sugar beet farming. Developed by the originator KWS Saat SE & Co. KGaA, this hybrid was designed as a core component of an innovative cultivation system, allowing for simplified weed control without compromising crop development.

Agronomic Profile

Belonging to the 'Normal' (N) productivity type, this hybrid demonstrates balanced development of medium-sized root crops. Under proper agrotechnical conditions, the sugar content potential consistently remains within the 16–17% range. This performance makes the variety highly sought after by processors focused on a high output of finished sugar.

Comprehensive Immunity

The key value of «Smart Caledonia KWS» lies in its genetic resistance to pathogens that traditionally diminish sugar beet yields:

• High tolerance to Pythium root rot and common scab.
• Effective defense against Cercospora leaf spot, powdery mildew, and various types of rot.
• Ability to maintain viability under high infectious pressure, reducing the need for additional fungicide applications.

Choosing this hybrid is a commitment to the reliability of German breeding and result predictability in changing climate conditions. «Smart Caledonia KWS» is ideal for operations implementing high-tech protection methods, where the priority is combining stable yields with operational flexibility.
