Frigate is a single-seeded diploid hybrid of sugar beet of type N, intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The plant is of medium height with semi-erect leaves and an oval-conical root of medium length, weighing up to 623 grams. The vegetative period is about 180 days, which characterizes the hybrid as medium-late. Average root yield reaches 385 centners per hectare, with sugar content in the roots at 17.9% and sugar harvest at 82.6 centners per hectare. The hybrid has moderate resistance to root aphid and pitiosis root rot, which contributes to stable yield and product quality.
Additionally, under the name Frigate, a universal complex fungicide is released for the prevention and treatment of fungal diseases in crops of various cultures, including grape, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cucumbers, and sunflower. The fungicide contains two active ingredients—cyoxanil (125 g/L) and dimethomorph (180 g/L), which prevents the development of pathogen resistance. Due to its ability to penetrate plant tissues, the preparation effectively destroys pathogenic spores even in difficult-to-reach and unprocessed areas.
The mechanism of action of the fungicide is based on inhibition of RNA synthesis in pathogen cells by cyoxanil, which blocks mycelial growth and sporulation, while dimethomorph prevents the formation of the fungal cell wall, causing it to rupture under osmotic pressure. The preparation is distributed throughout the plant acropetally, providing a therapeutic effect on untreated parts. The protective action period is from 8 to 12 days, and short-term rainfall occurring 1-2 hours after treatment does not reduce the effectiveness of the fungicide.
