Lyglovsky MS 17 is a high-yielding sugar beet hybrid created within the breeding programs of the All-Russian Research Institute of Sugar Beet and Sugar named after A.L. Mazlumov. This single-seed diploid hybrid of the EZ-type is distinguished by medium maturity, high yield, and sugar content, making it in demand in various agroecological zones. The plant is of medium height with a wide-conical root, whose mass averages 520.7 grams.
The Lyglovsky MS 17 hybrid demonstrates resistance to root rots and root eelworm, which significantly enhances its reliability and yield stability. In the Central-Black Earth region, the average root yield is about 45.89 centners per hectare, with sugar content in the roots at 17.3%, ensuring sugar collection of up to 7.14 tons per hectare. These figures may vary depending on the growing region, indicating the hybrid's flexibility and adaptability.
In addition to high productivity, Lyglovsky MS 17 has improved technological qualities, making it attractive for industrial sugar production. The hybrid is intended for use in the Volga-Vyatka, Central-Black Earth, and North Caucasus regions, successfully coping with various environmental stress factors. Its widespread application in agriculture contributes to increasing the efficiency of beet farming and stable acquisition of quality raw materials for the sugar industry.
