Description FD HOCKEY
FD HOCKEY is a diploid hybrid of sugar beet, characterized by high yield and increased sugar content. The plant is of medium height and belongs to mid-to-late-season hybrids with a vegetation period ranging from 145 to 155 days. The hybrid features a single-seed structure and is developed on a sterile N-type base, ensuring yield stability and quality. Root mass varies between 531–556 g, contributing to high sugar collection per hectare.

The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Volga-Vyatka, Central Black Earth, and North Caucasian regions of Russia, as well as in Ukraine. Under different climatic conditions, root yield reaches 412 to 757 c/ha, with sugar content ranging from 17.3–19.8%, ensuring sugar collection from 75.8 to 102.5 c/ha. In the Krasnodar Krai and Kursk region, the hybrid demonstrates indicators above the standard, confirming its adaptability and high productivity.

FD HOCKEY is resistant to major sugar beet diseases, including afanomyces root rot, cercosporosis, rhizomania, powdery mildew, and root louse. Over the years of testing, only weak infection by root rots and cercosporosis was noted, making the hybrid a reliable choice for farmers. The recommended seeding density is 100–115 thousand plants per hectare, which promotes optimal development and maximum yield. The hybrid is suitable for early sowing and cultivation in various natural-climatic zones, including forest-steppe, forest-steppe, and steppe.
