Sugar beet FD Forsage

Focus on Root Health

The French breeding expertise of Florimond-Desprez Veuve et Fils consistently prioritizes phytosanitary safety, and the "FD Forsage" sugar beet hybrid is a prime example of this philosophy. In intensive farming, where soil-borne pathogens pose a growing threat, this hybrid serves as a strategic tool for safeguarding agricultural investments.

A Strong Barrier Against Pathogens

The defining feature of "FD Forsage" is its multi-layered disease resistance. Unlike hybrids focused solely on sugar content, this variety balances yield potential with robust immunity against the most destructive threats:

• Rhizoctonia and Rhizomania: Genetic resistance prevents these "crop-killers" from compromising yield, even in high-pressure environments.
• Root Rots: The density of the root structure minimizes the risk of secondary infections during growth and post-harvest storage.
• Cercospora Tolerance: High tolerance to this foliar pathogen allows farmers to reduce fungicide applications, significantly optimizing production costs.

Agronomic Profile

The root is characterized by a broad-conical shape and average size. This morphology is engineered for efficient mechanical harvesting, reducing root damage and lowering the soil tare at the delivery point. If your fields are prone to high inoculum levels, "FD Forsage" is not just a technological choice, but an economic one, ensuring a more predictable harvest with fewer crop failures.

Who Should Use It?

"FD Forsage" is ideal for operations with intensive sugar beet rotations or those managing fields with historical disease pressure. It is a workhorse for growers who prioritize stability and stress tolerance over high-risk, high-maintenance varieties. By choosing this Florimond-Desprez hybrid, you secure your crop against the most common yield-limiting factors in sugar beet production.
