BTS 5800 sugar beet is a single-tillering diploid hybrid on a sterile base of the NZ-type, designed for high yield and quality sugar production. The plant is of medium height with a wide-conical root of medium length. The leaves have an intermediate position, a medium width-to-length ratio of the leaf blade, strong green intensity, and a green petiole. The leaf blade has medium glossiness and corrugation, with a blunt tip form and anthocyanin coloring.
The hybrid is characterized by stable development and adaptation to various soil and climatic conditions, allowing it to be grown in various regions, including the Krasnodar Krai and Rostov Region. Average root yield reaches 61.9 centners per hectare, sugar content is about 18.9%, and sugar harvest reaches 120.7 centners per hectare. Thanks to these indicators, the variety ensures a high sugar yield and economic efficiency of production.
BTS 5800 has a medium level of resistance to the main diseases of sugar beet, such as cercosporosis, aflanomyces, fusarium, and powdery mildew. Over the years of field tests in growing regions, no disease damage was observed, which confirms the reliability of the variety. This hybrid is recommended for cultivation in diverse climatic zones, ensuring a stable and quality crop.
