Sunflower Florasun is a mid-late hybrid intended for cultivation under various climatic conditions, including the Middle Volga region. The vegetation period is approximately 117 days, ensuring optimal maturity and high productivity. Plants reach a height of 160-170 cm, have a semi-convex flower head with a diameter of 18-20 cm and downward tilt, which facilitates efficient harvest. Thousand seed mass varies from 56 to 58 grams, indicating seed size and quality. The Florasun hybrid exhibits high resistance to various races of downy mildew (A-F), as well as diseases such as fusarium, fusarium wilt, sclerotinia of head and neck, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. A distinctive feature of the hybrid is resistance to imidazolinone herbicides (Clearfield technology), which simplifies weed control and enhances the efficiency of agronomic practices. Additionally, Florasun shows good resistance to lodging, which helps maintain the quality and quantity of the harvest. Sunflower seeds of Florasun have a high oil content — 50-52% — making this hybrid attractive for oilseed production. The recommended sowing rate depends on moisture conditions: 35-40 thousand plants per hectare under insufficient moisture, 50-55 thousand under adequate moisture. The potential yield is 5.0-5.5 tons per hectare, confirmed by stable performance across various regions.
