Sugar beet of the IMPERIAL variety has a vegetation period of 140 to 155 days and exhibits high potential for yield and sugar content. The leaf rosette is upright, medium-sized, and dark green. The root has an oval-conical shape, white-green with ridges, weighing 300 to 450 grams, with two-thirds of it embedded in the soil. The root flesh is white and juicy, with a sugar content of 17-18%. The root head is convex, gray-green, and rough. Yield ranges from 35 to 45 tons per hectare and higher.
This variety shows high resistance to drought and cold, as well as resistance to diseases and bolting, ensuring good storability of the product. Sugar beet IMPERIAL is particularly demanding in terms of moisture during seed germination and root formation, but responds well to liming of soils with optimal acidity in the pH range 6.5-7.5. Sowing is recommended at a depth of 6-7 cm when soil temperature reaches 6-8 °C, with a seeding rate of 2-10 kg per hectare and plant density at harvest of 85-100 thousand per hectare.
The IMPERIAL variety is suitable for medium-term harvest and demonstrates good storability, facilitating storage of the harvest. Due to its cold and drought resistance, as well as high yield and quality of roots, this variety is a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions.
