Sunflower Bogedar

Performance and Weed Control Efficiency

The «Bozhedar» sunflower hybrid, developed by the Institute of Oilseed Crops of the NAAS, is a strategic asset for commercial farming. Designed specifically for intensive production systems, it features built-in resistance to imidazolinone herbicides. This allows farmers to implement the «Euro-Lightning» technology, providing a highly effective, one-pass control strategy against broad-spectrum weeds and all known races of broomrape.

Disease Resilience and Oil Quality

One of the primary challenges in sunflower production is managing pathogenic pressure. «Bozhedar» offers strong genetic resistance to downy mildew (peronosporosis), phomopsis, and phoma. For farm operations, this means reduced reliance on intensive fungicide spraying schedules, lowering input costs and enhancing overall profitability per hectare.

• High oil content ranging from 50% to 55%, ensuring premium quality for processing facilities.
• Excellent adaptability to Ukrainian soil and climatic conditions, delivering consistent yields across different environments.
• Reduced requirement for inter-row cultivation, saving on fuel and labor costs while preserving soil moisture.

By integrating «Bozhedar» into the crop rotation, agronomists can effectively manage high-weed-pressure fields without the risk of phytotoxicity. This hybrid is built for those who prioritize operational simplicity combined with high commercial output, providing a reliable buffer against seasonal agricultural risks.
