Description Bakara
Baccara — a diploid hybrid sugar beet of the NZ type, intended for cultivation in all sugar beet-growing regions. This variety is characterized by high productivity and stable yield potential, confirmed by trials from 2005 to 2007, where average yield was 719 c/ha with a maximum of 936 c/ha. The roots have a conical shape, an average weight of one root around 743 g, with shallow soil penetration. The upper part of the root is greenish, the lower part is white. The leaves are green, with a polystichous arrangement, seedlings are green with a white hypocotyl. The hybrid is genetically uniform, promoting even plant development. Baccara is characterized by high sugar content in the roots, with an average sugar content over the test years of 17.1%, and a maximum of 20.6%. Sugar yield per hectare was 124.4 c, and factory sugar output — 104.7 c/ha. The hybrid has good technological properties, making it attractive for industrial sugar production. Recommended for harvesting during the main period, with medium (Middle) harvest timing, allowing optimal use of agronomic resources. The variety shows high resistance to major sugar beet diseases, such as rhizomania, cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and stem disease. Additionally, Baccara exhibits weak expression of fibrousness and branching, and resistance to chlorosis. Thanks to these qualities and proven stable yield, Baccara is one of the leading hybrids on the Ukrainian market, confirmed by its record seed sales and recognition in 2014 as a high-yielding hybrid.
