Sugar beet Classica / Klasika

German precision in sugar beet production

The 'Klasika' sugar beet hybrid by KWS represents a cornerstone of modern breeding, specifically engineered for farmers dealing with high disease pressure. As a Z-type (sugar-rich) hybrid, it is designed to maximize refined sugar output, making it a strategic asset for operations where factory yield requirements are stringent.

Key agrotechnical features

The strength of this hybrid lies in its genetic resilience. In current agricultural practices, yield potential is irrelevant if the crop cannot withstand environmental challenges. KWS 'Klasika' offers:

• Root Health: Robust genetic resistance to root rots, which minimizes the need for heavy fungicide applications and protects the harvest from the ground up.
• Nematode Defense: Developed to thrive in fields where crop rotation challenges lead to high nematode populations, ensuring stable performance across various soil types.
• Z-Type Profile: Engineered for superior sucrose accumulation, this hybrid meets the high standards of modern processing plants.

KWS has long been a global benchmark for sugar beet innovation. 'Klasika' reflects a shift in breeding priorities, focusing on creating a plant that is not only high-yielding but also highly reliable under stress. For the agronomist, this translates to uniform emergence, consistent growth, and high sugar extraction rates during processing.

Market positioning and usage

This hybrid is particularly well-suited for high-intensity farming regions. By mitigating the risks of root-borne diseases and pests, 'Klasika' serves as a form of crop insurance. It is favored by professional growers and large-scale agricultural enterprises that require predictable, mathematically sound results. If you are looking to balance high sucrose content with the safety of a disease-resistant genetics package, 'Klasika' remains a top-tier industry recommendation.
