Sugar beet KONSTANZIA KWS

Why Konstanzia KWS has become the go-to choice for Cercospora control

When Cercospora hits the field, time is against the agronomist. From personal experience, working with the Konstanzia KWS hybrid takes the headache out of mid-season management. It is a normal-type (N) sugar beet that performs reliably in the field, even when the weather throws a curveball.

Manageability and Harvesting

For a combine operator, root shape is a key factor in harvesting speed. Konstanzia has a classic conical shape that clears the soil perfectly. Less dirt in the bunker, smoother operation of the separators, and fewer mechanical damages during lifting—these are the nuances that save fuel and extend equipment life. Maintain a density of 90,000–100,000 plants per hectare, which allows the roots to develop evenly, ensuring no issues during the beet harvester pass.

Technological Advantages

• High tolerance to leaf diseases, especially Cercospora, allows for a reduction in fungicide applications.
• KWS genetics ensure vigorous early growth, which helps in closing the canopy quickly.
• Sugar content remains consistently high with standard agronomic practices.

Managing crops with this hybrid doesn't require any special tricks. Konstanzia KWS is a professional tool that is forgiving of minor mistakes in fertilizer timing and reacts predictably to standard protection protocols. For farms where high tonnage per hectare without compromising raw material quality is a priority, choosing this German KWS variety remains a sound investment.
